This clinical perspective and case report explores the evolving debate surrounding the necessity of a traditional glide path when utilizing modern reciprocating endodontic single-file systems. While establishing a glide path has long been considered a mandatory prerequisite to prevent instrument separation, advancements in metallurgy and reciprocating kinematics—such as those seen in the EdgeOne Blaze Utopia™ system—now allow clinicians to safely streamline their workflow. The article highlights how these highly flexible, heat-treated files can effectively navigate and shape mildly to moderately curved canals without prior glide path creation, offering a highly conservative, time-efficient, and cost-effective approach to root canal preparation when applied to appropriate clinical cases.
