Elegance in Innovation, Strength in Versatility

EdgeDiamond Utopia™ offers versatility in both rotary or forward reciprocating settings. Advanced diamond geometry ensures strength, flexibility, and precision for brilliant results in your hands.

  • More resistant to Cyclic Fatigue than ProTaper®
  • Superior Torsional Strength
  • High flexibility makes EdgeDiamond™ more desirable for complex curvature cases.

Diamond Cross Section

Minimally invasive with less than 1mm max diameter.

Incredibly Strong

Resists stress and fatigue for reliable, durable performance.

Very Versatile

Maintains shape for precise, controlled instrumentation.

Minimally Invasive

Preserves anatomy while navigating complex canals.

“The length of the files was perfect, and the cutting efficiency allowed for a minimal orifice opening while at the same time completely extirpating the pulp. This led to a very easy glide path to the apex of each root, and the orifice opening was wide enough for the shaping files to seamlessly do their job.”
– Dr. Fusco

Comparative Cyclic and Torsional Fatigue Tests

A chart titled 'Incredible Resistance to Cyclic Fatigue' displays cyclic fatigue testing results, showing the average time to failure in cycles for different endodontic instruments. The chart compares EdgeDiamond Utopia™ and ProTaper® instruments. Results are as follows: EdgeDiamond Utopia™ - Shaper 20/.04v: 1338 cycles, ProTaper® - S2 20/.04v: 543 cycles; EdgeDiamond Utopia™ - F1 20/.07v: 1647 cycles, ProTaper® - F1 20/.07v: 804 cycles; EdgeDiamond Utopia™ - F2 25/.07v: 1145 cycles, ProTaper® - F2 25/.08v: 591 cycles. The chart highlights EdgeDiamond’s greater resistance to cyclic fatigue, flexibility, and improved torsional strength. A footnote cites the test conditions and references a study from Annali Di Stomatologia.

EdgeDiamond files demonstrate superior fatigue resistance when compared to ProTaper Gold® and WaveOne® Gold3. This enhanced durability makes them a reliable choice for challenging cases, providing greater efficiency and safety during instrumentation.

EdgeDiamond files demonstrate superior fatigue resistance when compared to ProTaper Gold® and WaveOne® Gold3. This enhanced durability makes them a reliable choice for challenging cases, providing greater efficiency and safety during instrumentation.

EdgeDiamond files exhibit higher torsion values compared to ProTaper Gold®3, indicating their superior performance under stress. This robustness enhances their reliability in demanding clinical situations, ensuring efficient shaping while reducing the risk of instrument failure.

Real-World Applications of EdgeDiamond Utopia™

Treating Irreversible Pulpitis in a Second Upper Premolar

Irreversible pulpitis in a second upper premolar which presented with two canals measuring 23mm and exhibiting small apical curvatures.

After establishing a manual glide path using a size 10 stainless steel K-file, the canals were instrumented with Diamond Files (Slider, Shaper, F1, and F2).

The flexibility of these instruments ensured effective negotiation and preservation of the original canal anatomy, particularly in the apical curvatures, while achieving thorough cleaning and shaping.

Minimally Invasive Treatment of Necrotic Upper Molar

Necrotic first upper molar with periodontitis and three separate canals presented a unique challenge. The primary goal was to minimize invasiveness and preserve peri-cervical dentin to maintain the tooth’s structural integrity, as it would serve as a bridge abutment post-treatment.

The EdgeDiamond file system proved invaluable, offering an excellent balance of safety and efficiency. Its variable tapers enabled precise three-dimensional shaping while conserving tooth structure, supporting a less invasive approach to treatment.
